Luke 12:22-23 (ESV)
22 And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.”
Easier said than done.
Life is stressful. Very stressful.
We seem to worry about everything.
Our health. Our jobs. Our family.
What to eat. What to wear.
Do epicurean meals and fashion labels dominate your thoughts?
Mind you the passage is not suggesting we ignore our responsibilities or simply not care about them.
Rather, we should entrust our concerns to a God who loves and cares for us.
The question is: do we have complete “faith” in an all-powerful, completely sovereign creator? (Luke 12:28)
“For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God (Psalms 86:10).
prayer : thank you that you “value” and care for us (Luke 12:24)
action : offer up to God my concerns
